Midsummer Ex aka Johan Collander is paying homage to the past while reminding us to live in the moment. Having grown up in the industrial small town of Eskilstuna in Sweden he started his new life in 2000 by moving to London, UK and after living there for 10 years is now residing in Stockholm.

Featuring in the exciting retro game "Mega City Force - Retrowave Soundtrack along greats like Timecop1983, Droid Bishop and Nightcrawler

Inspired by sci-fi horror, and 80s Films & Tv soundtracks, Midsummer Ex aims to blend electronic synthwave, retrowave and eighties synth-pop sounds with a touch of Scandinavian heartbreak and bittersweet childhood nostalgia and has an obsession with memories, melancholy and the past. Major inspirations are The Midnight, Pet Shop Boys, kent, Drive and Stranger Things soundtracks.

Most of the songs are mixed & mastered by Luis M Deltell from Maxthor.

Midsummer Ex first started making music inspired by italodisco with his band International and had rotation in the massive Patrick Miller nightclub in Mexico City and has also written for Debra Gaynor from The Flirts. Collabs with Vincent International , Rachel Santos, Stylove Juan Martinez,jacket.
